There is a rumor that Intel is going to issue Core I5 processors that are named Lynfiled on 6 September. Core I5 is actually the same as the older brother which is Core i7, but carried with a few changes.
Changes in the third memory channels that have been removed, and Direct Media Interface by QuickPath Interconnect. Intel Core I5 has speed 2.66GHz with 8 MB L3 cache, which can be overclock up to 3.2GHz.
This young brother of Core i7 is using Socket LGA 1156 and has dual channel memory controller for DDR3 1333 MHz integrated. This chip will be offered with the price range of about U.S. $ 196.
Furthermore, there is also rumor that Intel wil releasing two types of quad-core processors. As quoted from techtree, Thursday (23/7/2009), two types of processors are the 2.8GHz Core i7 860 and the 2.93GHz Intel Core i7 870. Both use the socket LGA 1156. Intel claims that when in-overclock both able to achieve 3.6 GHz speed.
Up to now there is no further news from the Intel, the certainty in the release of its Core is I5.
