Intel Stop the Production of 'Atom' First Generation

intel atomIntel reported will stop the production process of the first generation Atom chip. The first generation of Intel Atom is known as the Z series.

Z500 or Z series is the Intel Atom in the first generation, ever since Intel introduced the Atom brand in its own market. This series has a single-core chip with a clock-speed between 800 MHz up to 2:00 GHz.

This early Generation of Intel Atom , was present with 11 models. Now, Have been born the next generation called the N Series. These series is successful with the Atom N200 and N400, which is named 'Diamondville' and 'Pineview'.

Quoted from techpowerup, on Monday (3/8/2009), Intel will likely stop the production of this chip because of market demand. With the presence of their latest Chip Atom N Series, many parties that want more 'novelty' than 'old goods'.

Some manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, MSI has been using the Atom N Series in their netbook. Intel Atom Z Series itself is a chip designed for the netbook and mobile Internet devices (MIDs).
